Presentation of project’s results of the EU support to BiH Indirect Taxation Authority

eu_flag_rf123All media are invited to cover the closing event of the EU funded Twinning project “Further harmonisation to EU practices and Acquis on customs and taxation”, that will take place on 28 January 2015, starting at 13:00hrs in Hotel ‘Bosna’ (Piano Bar, 1st floor) in Banja Luka.

This successful project started in January 2013 and it consisted of 11 components in the area of indirect taxation. The project represents continued EU support to the BiH’s Indirect Taxation Authority, in harmonisation of BiH legislation in the area of customs, value added taxes and excises with laws and directives of the EU.

The event will start with welcome addresses by Miro Džakula, Director of the BiH Indirect Taxation

Authority, Brigitte Kuchar, Acting Head of Operations Section for Justice, Home Affairs and Public

Administration Reform at the EU Delegation to BiH, Iztok Grmek, Ambassador of Republic of Slovenia

to BiH, Wolfgang Thill, Deputy Head of Mission of Embassy of Austria to BiH and Stanislav Mikuž,

Customs Administration Director at Financial Administration of Republic of Slovenia.

Presentation of project results will follow after welcome remarks. Media is invited to cover the event and take statements at the end, at 14:00hrs.

The project was financed by the European Union in the amount of 2 million EUR from Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA 2011), and implemented by the Agency for European Integration and Economic Development (AEI), c/o Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance, in cooperation with Slovenian Ministry of Finance – Financial Administration of Republic of Slovenia.
