The President of FBiH Forbids Outgoing Government Adoption of New Decisions?

cavaraCiting constitutional authority, President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Marinko Čavara issued today an order to the responsible persons in the FBiH Government and other entities of executive power to immediately suspend the decisions that are necessary for the functioning of the Federation until the establishment ofnew executive authorities in accordance with the electoral will of the citizens, FENA reports.

The order applies to all staffing solutions and new employment at the institutions of the executive branch and companies in which the Federation has management rights. The order does not apply to decisions whose non-adoption or delayed adoption may result in adverse consequences for the Federation.

“The outgoing FBiH Government is acting contrary to all legal provisions, but also generally accepted democratic standards since the elections. According to these standards, those who have lost elections should not make political decisions or staffing solutions on behalf of those who have received the support of citizens in elections. I expect that they will at least now respect the constitutional provision according to which the President of the Federation is the head of the executive branch of Government,” said Čavara for FENA.
