The President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev will pay an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday and Thursday at the invitation of Denis Bećirović, Chairman of the BiH Presidency.

As reported by the Bulgarian agency BTA, it is expected that the focus of President Radev’s meetings will be the European perspective of BiH, regional cooperation in Southeast Europe and strengthening of security and stability in the region, as well as topics on the bilateral partnership agenda.

The Bulgarian head of state will be welcomed with a solemn ceremony in front of the BiH Presidency building in Sarajevo. He will hold a meeting with three members of the Presidency: Denis Bećirović, Željka Cvijanović and Željko Komšić, after which plenary talks between the delegations of the two countries will be held. Rumen Radev and Denis Bećirović will hold a joint press conference.

In Sarajevo, the head of state will also meet with members of the two houses of the BiH Parliament, the chairperson of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, as well as with the high representative of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt.

President Radev will visit the Butmir military base where the Bulgarian soldiers participating in the EUFOR military operation for Bosnia and Herzegovina ALTHEA are stationed. The Bulgarian head of state will meet with the Supreme Commander of EUFOR, Lieutenant General László Stitz.
