President of Serbia agrees with his Croatian Colleague about Constitutionality of BiH

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said that at the Brdo-Brijuni meeting, different positions were shown, but that the conversation was civilized and rational, and that he agreed with the position of the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, on the constitutionality of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“We managed to adopt a joint conclusion in six points that reaffirms support for the European path of the Western Balkans. The main point is the reaffirmation of an accelerated European path for the entire region. Visa liberalization for everyone in the region, granting candidate status to Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is also important for us to ask for support of the European Union due to the difficult energy situation in which the Western Balkans, as well as the whole of Europe, found themselves,” Vučić said.

The President of Serbia also said that those present at the meeting showed diametrically opposed views in everything else, but that the conversation proceeded in a civilized and rational manner.

“We have a different approach to relations with Pristina than others. Almost everyone here, except for Bosnia and Herzegovina and thanks to the Serbian position, recognized Kosovo’s independence,” Vučić said.

“There are big differences on the issue of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the position of President Milanović on constitutionality, which Serbia also supported because it is in accordance with the Dayton Peace Agreement. So, everything was civilized normally, there were no tensions or rude words,” described Vučić.

He added that the Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency immediately rejected the declaration in which the constitutionality was mentioned and that they did not even want to talk about it, but that elections are coming up in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Vučić also spoke about the fact that currently the majority of Serbian residents do not support the country’s membership in the European Union, but that he hopes to change that, Klix.ba reports.
