“Prevent Group” bought a company “Neue Halberg-Guss GmbH” from the German city of Saarbrücken, one of the largest foundries in Europe, which has facilities in Leipzig and South Africa.

It is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of crankshafts, blocks and cylinder heads for cars, trucks and buses, which works for Daimler, Opel and Volkswagen.

It employs close to 3.000 workers who earn an annual turnover of 500 million euros.

The German Competition Authority approved the purchase of “Neue Halberg-Guss” by “Prevent’s” investment fund Castanea Rubra GmbH.

What caused anxiety in the circuits related to the German automotive industry is the fact that “Neue Halberg-Guss’s” largest customers are the companies: Daimler (Mercedes), Opel and Volkswagen.

German media recall the Hastor conflict with Volkswagen, which even led to the suspension of the Golf production. Now they explain that by buying “Neue Halberg-Guss” , Hastor wants to strengthen the position in the future negotiations on cooperation with the Wolfsburg concern.
