What is the profit of banks in FBiH in the first Quarter?

BBI Bank and GCC Investors deling.bizThe generated profit on the level of banking system in the FBiH in the first quarter of 2016 amounts to 73 million BAM.

According to the Agency for Banking of FBiH, a total of 17 banks in the FBiH had a banking permit conclusive with March 31.

The balance sheet total of the banking sector at the end of the first quarter of 2016 amounted to 18.2 billion BAM, which is approximately on the same level as at the end of 2015.

In the first quarter of 2016, financial assets decreased by 4.2 percent or 205 million BAM and amounted to 4.7 billion BAM on March 31. Decrease of financial assets is a result of the growth of placement towards other banks, slight credit growth and investments in securities, and on the other side, a result of payment of the due credit liabilities.

Credits, as the largest item of bank assets, recorded a growth by 0.8 percent or 88 million BAM in the first quarter od 2016 and on March 31 they amounted to 11.7 billion BAM. Loans to households increased by 1 percent or 36 million BAM, while the share stayed on the same level of 49.1 percent, and they amounted to 5.7 billion BAM.

Credits to private enterprises amounted to 5.4 billion BAM,also with slight growth of one percent or 78 million BAM and increased share from 45.9 percent to 46.2 percent.

Total non-performing loans amounted to 1.46 billion BAM and in comparison with the end of 2015 they decreased by 3 percent or 46 million BAM. The share of non-performing loans, as the key indicator of the quality of credits, decreased from 12.9 percent to 12.4 percent.

With the amount of 13.1 billion BAM and the share of 76 percent in the structure of sources of financing of the banks, deposits are still the dominant source of financing of banks in FBiH and they kept approximately the same level as at the end of 2015.

The longtime trend of growth of savings deposits, as the most significant segment of deposit and financial potential of banks, continued in the first three months of 2016, with the rate of 2.4 percent or 175 million BAM, and they amounted to 7.4 billion BAM.

Total capital increased by 2.8 percent or 72 million BAM, on the basis of the profit of the current period, and conclusive with March 31 this year it amounted to 2.7 billion BAM.

The rate of adequacy of the capital of the banking system, as one of the most important indicators of the strength and adequacy of the capital of the banks, amounted to 15.4 percent and is still significantly higher than the legal minimum (12 percent), stated the Information Office of the Agency for Banking in FBiH.
