pozoristeThe Sarajevo National Theatre (NPS) entered the new year with a draft program of work based on the combination of works of choice from classical repertoire and contemporary drama literature.

Acting Director of NPS Gorana Hrenovica said at a press conference in Sarajevo that this is a draft of a program whose realization will depend on the available budget for this institution, and changes are possible.

The Artistic Director of Drama of NPS Ermin Sijamija said that in this segment of the theatre, two premieres by local artists are planned-the play “Sarajevo za početnike” (Sarajevo for Beginners) by Ozren Kebo and ‘’Uhode’’ (Spies) by Derviš Sušić, which will be directed by Dino Mustafić.

The first premiere performance in the new year will be a project by Selma Spahić called “Skupština” (Assembly), whose premiere is scheduled for 21 February.

In addition to the planned premieres, there will also be “Mrtve duše” (Dead Souls) by Nikolai Gogol, “Opera za tri groša” (threepenny opera) by Bertolt Brecht and ‘’Tri Sestre’’ by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov.

On behalf of the NPS, Denis Isaković announced two planned premieres- “Rigoletto” by Giuseppe Verdi and “Lucia De Lammermoor” by Gaetano Donizetti, while the concert repertoire for operas will include two important performances-concert of the opera choir of NPS and the Vienna Philharmonic on 28 June in Vijećnica, and a gala concert of the opera on occasion of the opening of the art season 2014/2015.

Presenting the repertoire of the ballet of NPS, the Artistic Director Edina Papo said that there will be two premieres- ‘’Bosanska Svadba’’ (Bosnian wedding) by Josef Bayer and ‘’Giselle’ by Adolf Adam.

Also, the National Theatre will hold the world premiere of “Ljutita noć” (angery night) by Bernard Henri Levy on 27 June, and directed by Dino Mustafić.
