The Project of Zenica Cable Car revealed after 30 years?

ZenicaBack in 1984, Sarajevo made a project for the construction of the cable car in Zenica in return for the help in the organization of the Winter Olympics, and the project was revealed only a few days ago.

The story about Zenica cable car for which was planned to go from Kamberovica Polje to Zenica picnic area “Smetovi” was present in Zenica for years, and the Public Company for the management and maintenance of sports facilities got into possession of the project, which was made by Energoinvest back in 1984.

“The project was the obligation of the city of Sarajevo to Zenica for investing in the organization of the Olympic Winter Games, but after it was in the archives for more than 32 years that was even affected by the fire, now it is found and stored on a safe place. We cannot talk about the value of the project because it was made many years ago, and now we are using new technologies,” said director of PC for management and maintenance of sports facilities in Zenica, Fedja Jovanovic.

The project includes about 60 poles on the route of about 5.5 kilometers, and those responsible stated that they are glad that poles do not affect the route of the Corridor 5C  which is constructed over Zenica, which is the reason why the implementation of the project is still feasible.

The entire project from drawing up to the budget is made by hand and special attention was given to details.

“I was shocked when I saw that the entire project from start to finish was made by hand, due to the fact that now everything is done in the computer programs. Simply, this is a project that was done by real engineers,” said Jovanovic and added that the project needs to be transferred to computer software after which is planned its realization.

For the end, Jovanovic expressed his hope that future mayors will be ready to start with the implementation of the project of Zenica cable car, in order to contribute to tourism during the winter and summer periods.
