volunteers cleanPromotion of initiative “Priče poslije kiše” (Stories after the rain), initiated by civil society organizations which operated and still operate in humanitarian interventions during the time of catastrophic floods in May in B&H will be held tomorrow in Sarajevo at the premises of UN.

According to UNDP, the initiative has started with the aim of presenting stories of individuals, giving recognition to the selfless solidarity in action and networking local communities for further actions.

Many people lost their lives during floods in B&H and about 40.000 people were evacuated. Tens of thousands of houses were destroyed or damaged, as well as the infrastructure.

UNDP points out that, despite the devastating consequences of flooding, citizens showed a high level of solidarity, overcoming political and ethnic differences and worked together on humanitarian support, saving lives and responding to the crisis.
