Protests against Femicide will be held across BiH Today

Herzegovina (BIH), angry and concerned citizens, women’s activist formal and informal groups, and everyone who refuses to remain silent called on citizens to protest under the slogan “Not One More” (”Nijedna vise”) on Wednesday, October 11th at 4 p.m.

Why are the protests being organized?

The organizers of the protest stated why they are organizing the protests and presented their demands:

Because 48 percent of women in BiH suffered sexual and gender-based violence.

Because in 84 percent of cases, violence in the family and intimate relationships is never reported.

Because about 70 percent of the investigations of the cases reported to the competent prosecutor’s offices are suspended.

“Therefore, we are looking for an urgent and effective reaction of the responsible institutions at all levels in BiH, and a radical change in all social spheres where such beliefs, forms of consciousness, and practices are encouraged, covered up, or tacitly approved. Every subsequent case of femicide is the responsibility of the whole society. We invite you to send a loud message with your participation and action: ‘Not One More!‘,” it was announced.
