Protests against Trump and Musk across the U.S. and Europe

Several hundred thousand people took part in more than 1.400 protests across all 50 United States (U.S.) states against President Donald Trump and U.S. billionaire Elon Musk, who is the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), world media have reported.

Media reported that millions of people participated in the protests organized by a pro-democracy movement. The organizers of the demonstrations say they are opposing what they call a “hostile takeover” and an attack on U.S. rights and freedoms being carried out, in their view, by Trump and Musk.

The protests were held in the capitals of U.S. states, federal buildings, congressional offices, social security headquarters, parks, and city halls across the U.S.

Demonstrators expressed dissatisfaction over a series of political decisions, including the reduction of transgender rights, mass deportations of migrants, restrictions on abortion rights, and plans to cut social security.

The protest organizers called on all those who oppose, among other things, attacks on democracy and the elimination of jobs to join the demonstrations.

According to media reports, as of March 28th, Trump had fired at least 121.360 employees from federal agencies.

According to organizers, approximately 150 activist groups reported participation in the protests. Some demonstrators carried Ukrainian flags, others wore Palestinian keffiyehs and held signs reading “Freedom for Palestine.”

In addition to the U.S., protests against Trump and Musk were also held in several European cities, including Berlin, Frankfurt, London, and Lisbon.
