Members of the Plenum of Zenica citizens organized today peaceful protests and a protest walk through the streets of Zenica, leading to the building of Zenica – Doboj Canton, where today is being held the regular session of the Cantonal Assembly.
Plenum of citizens sent a request to the Cantonal Assembly for the appointment of a non partisan candidate in the new cantonal government. This request has not been fulfilled yet because the political parties of legislative bodies have not nominated a candidate yet, while representatives of the plenum had their four candidates. It is not announced any debate on this issue on today’s agenda of the regular session.
The informal group of citizens, which acts as a council of plenum of Zenica citizens, submitted a list of new demands to the Municipal Council and to the Mayor of Zenica Municipality.
Plenum, among other things, requires the publication of houses list that the District has shared for the past 15 years, unconditional ban of further mortgage without the decision of citizens through a referendum and the submission of the report on all the responsibilities based on infrastructural projects in the last 15 years. Plenum seeks to abolish the further funding of political parties from the Municipal budget, the abolition of councilors benefits based on the participation in commissions, publication of the list with members of supervisory board of the institutions in the area of Zenica, and public companies and institutions, their income, expertise and party affiliation, the suspension of non transparent circumstances of all employments in the last ten years and the punishment of all those who did not obey the legal procedures.
