Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday that Russia does not want a war with the European powers, but that if Europe wants war, Russia is immediately ready to fight.
Putin said that the European powers are setting demands about a possible peace solution for Ukraine that Moscow considers absolutely unacceptable.
“We have no intention of waging war with Europe, but if Europe wants that and starts it, we are from this moment ready,” Putin said to reporters ahead of a meeting with United States (U.S.) envoy Steve Witkoff in Moscow.
He accused the Europeans of wanting to obstruct U.S. efforts aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. “They do not have a peace plan; they are on the side of war.”
