Russian President Vladimir Putin asked why world leaders are not shocked by the statement of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres that Gaza has been turned into a huge children’s cemetery.
At the virtual Summit of the Group of 20 (G20), he recalled the statements of world leaders who said they were “shocked by Russia’s actions in Ukraine and the loss of life.”
“I understand that this is a war, the death of people is disturbing. However, isn’t the bloody coup in Ukraine in 2014, followed by the war of the Kyiv regime against its own people in Donbas shocking? Isn’t the extermination of the civilian population in the Palestinian territories, in The Gaza Strip? What about the fact that doctors have to operate on children, perform abdominal surgeries without scalpels on children’s bodies without anesthesia? Isn’t that shocking? Isn’t it shocking that the UN Secretary General said that Gaza has turned into a huge a children’s cemetery?” asked Putin.
