The Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Bosnia and Herzegovina(BiH), Meshaal bin Ali al-Attiyah, sent a letter of condolences following the large fire that on Tuesday evening, November 4th, claimed 12 lives at the Tuzla Retirement Home.

Letters of condolences were sent to Zeljko Komsic, Chair of the Presidency of BiH, and Irfan Halilagic, Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton (TC).

“On behalf of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in BiH, as well as in my personal capacity, I express deep regret and sorrow over the tragic event that occurred on November 4th at the retirement home in Tuzla, which, according to available information, resulted in the death of twelve people and a large number of injured citizens,” Ambassador Al-Attiyah stated.

On behalf of his country, the head of the Qatari Mission in Sarajevo expressed messages of support and solidarity.

“In these difficult times, I extend to you personally, to the families of the victims, and to the entire people of BiH, my sincere condolences, sympathy, and solidarity. We pray to the Almighty to grant mercy and forgiveness to the deceased, and strength and patience to their loved ones to overcome this painful tragedy. We wish a speedy and full recovery to the injured. I also reaffirm the Embassy of the State of Qatar’s ongoing commitment to strengthening friendly relations between our countries, for the benefit of both peoples.
