Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn held a press conference with Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic yesterday in Sarajevo.
Press was held after the meeting and delivery of the Questionnaire of the European Commission for preparation of the opinion on the application of BiH for membership in the European Union.
They also expect financial support from the European institutions, as well as help with the answers.
Zvizdic said that this is one of the most important documents for BiH and that these 3,200 questions are the main condition of the EU for BiH.
“BiH will be able to respond timely to these questions,” said Zvizdic and, although he expressed concern over political situation in BiH, however, he announced that BiH will respond with one vote on these issues.
Hahn said that this day is a holiday and this is a positive year for BiH.
He noted the Reform Agenda that begins with implementation and adoption of the Coordination Mechanisms as achievements, and added that the next year will be prepared essay that goes to the protocol.
“This whole process will contribute to BiH,” said Hahn and emphasized that they think about the welfare of BiH and its citizens, and not just to satisfy the EU.
“The process of European integration brings stability, peace, work places, prosperity and better living standards for the citizens of BiH, so that they will not have to leave the country,” said Hahn. “Based on experience with other countries, it will bring foreign investors, which will feel secure.”
