Raisu-l-ulama of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein Kavazovic spoke yesterday in Zagreb with the Archbishop of Zagreb, Metropolitan Cardinal Josip Bozanic, about the cooperation of religious communities and the positive experiences that the Catholic Church and the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina have.

Kavazovic assessed that the relations between Muslims and Catholics are very good.

“I was honored to have the opportunity to meet an old friend of the Islamic Community, Cardinal Bozanic. We had the opportunity to discuss relations between Muslims and Catholics, that is, the Islamic Community and the Catholic Church, both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and here in Croatia,” said Kavazovic.

He expressed gratitude that he had the opportunity to inform Cardinal Bozanic about the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the current situation in the country, and in that context he said that more should be done.

After the meeting, Cardinal Bozanic also addressed the press, commenting on the meeting with the Head of the Islamic Community in BiH, describing the meeting as friendly.

“I was glad to meet my friends, the leader of all our Muslims, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Sandzak, Serbia, in all these areas. This is not the first meeting. It’s a friendly encounter, but each encounter brings something new. I am especially grateful to him for some specific information. I am looking forward to everything that is positive, but I am worried about what should be corrected and improved,” said Bozanic, explaining that he does not mean the relationship between Muslims and the Catholic Church, but the situation in BiH in general.
