From 2014 to 2023, Serbia spent 2.87 billion dollars on weapons and military equipment.

Last year alone, Serbia spent one billion and 510 million dollars on defense, which is the largest amount in the country’s recent history, and which accounted for two percent of GDP.

The Serbian Army tripled its military budget in the period from 2014 to 2023.

From 2014 to 2023, Serbia spent a total of about 2 billion and 870 million dollars on the procurement of weapons. This amount does not include Mig-29 planes, T-72B1MS tanks, and BRDM-2MS armored vehicles donated to Serbia by Russia.

Romania and Hungary buy the most weapons in the region, which have increased their military budgets the most. Followed by Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Albania, North Macedonia and Montenegro. Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is the last with only 15 million dollars of weapons purchased.
