Record 200,000 BAM collected for Children in BiH at the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar

Almost 40 embassies, 70 NGO’s and exhibitors from all over BiH got together for the traditional Diplomatic Winter Bazaar in the Mirza Delibasic Hall in Skenderija on Saturday, December 9, 2017.

The total amount of 200,000 BAM was collected that day, and it will be given to twenty charity organizations that work with children and young people with different needs in Gracanica, Doboj, Mostar, Grahovo, Samac, Foca, Zenica, Tuzla, Gacko, Banja Luka, Sarajevo and other areas in BiH.

Sandra Horowitz, the wife of the US Deputy Ambassador to BiH, who has been supporting the Bazaar for two years, stated: “We want to express our gratitude to all embassies and NGO’s, as well as all the exhibitors who took part in the Bazar, and everyone who bought the tickets and supported Bazar – we would not be able to support such a large number of children this year without all of you.”

“It was an honour for me to visit all the organizations that we support and to see what difference the donations are making – without any exception, all these organizations are real heroes of this country, and their work is inspiring and they make a real difference in the lives of their users. For me, it was an experience that opened my eyes and motivated me for further work. We are really happy to be able to support 20 charity organizations this year, all over BiH, and we made a special effort to also support those that are not located in larger cities and that are not beneficiaries of some large projects,” said Annarita Lippiello, the wife of the Italian ambassador and the new member of the Organizing Committee.
