zastava-bih-i-euA two-day regional conference, exchange of experiences and workshop Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods will be held in Sarajevo.

Focus of the conference is to exchange experiences among the countries of the region (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia) and European Union (Croatia, Norway, the Netherlands and Slovenia) when it comes to the use of alternative dispute resolution methods.

“We know that we in Bosnia and Herzegovina have a problem with alternative ways of resolving disputes, and that they are not applied to a large extent,” told FENA the leader of the project “Improving the efficiency of the judiciary,” with the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ana Bilić-Andrijanić.

She added that for this reason they organized this conference to which they invited guests from neighboring countries. Participants include representatives from Serbia and Montenegro.

“We also have representatives from the European Union. We have our neighbors from Croatia, as well as representatives from Slovenia, the Netherlands and Norway,” said Bilić-Andrijanić.

This event is organized within the project “Improvement of Judicial Efficiency” implemented by the HJPC, and funded by the Government of the Kingdom of Norway, Sweden and the EU.

“The focus is on mediation and arbitration, and within courts we have court settlement instrument as a way of alternative and faster dispute resolution method,” said Bilić-Andrijanić.

The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH, in cooperation with the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Unit of the European Commission (TAIEX) is the organizer of this two-day regional conference and workshop.
