The second edition of the Regional innovation fair “Sarajevo Unlimited 2017”, in the organization of Networks, was officially opened in the eminent edition of Sarajevo City Hall in front of more than 200 invitees, innovators from several countries, BH officials and numerous representatives of the international community in BiH.
Organizers announced the participation of more than 3000 people from 20 countries within three days of this manifestation. A total of 75 speakers were planned during workshops, as well as starting of 35 new startups. This year’s fair will be visited by representatives of one of the most important funds for investing in startups from San Francisco.
The largest number of participants will be from Serbia, six keynote speakers are planned as well as six-panel discussion, entrepreneurship and innovation fair, artistic performances, hackathons and workshops that will take place on six locations.
The founder of Networks Edin Mehic stated that this event is very important because it represents a platform that gathers young people, entrepreneurs, innovators and large companies not only from BiH but from the whole world, such as Deutsche Telecom, Lego, and Google, which are seeking for new ideas in which they can invest.
Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo Elmedin Konakovic noted that these kinds of events are affecting the consciousness of those who create political and social processes in the country, and they are positioning IT industry on the right place because, without it, it will not be easy for other industries in the near future.
The organizers of this innovation fair handed over “Viber Stickers of the City of Sarajevo” to the Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka, which were created by the team of young designers from startup accelerator of Networks.
The fair will be taking place until November 4, where youth will compete not only for the financial prize but for the opportunity to go to larger centers and get much larger investments.
The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic is one of the official partners of the second regional forum of innovations Sarajevo Unlimited 2017.
