As war approaches, Dua finds the fearless Maki and an unexpected form of resistance in a collapsing world.

Tonight, the audience will have the opportunity to see the film DUA, the second feature film by director Blerta Basholli, which had its world premiere in the prestigious La Semaine de la Critique selection at the 79th Cannes Film Festival. The regional premiere of the film will take place at the National Theatre Sarajevo starting at 7:00 PM, as part of the Competition Programme – Narrative Feature Film.

Prishtina, Kosova, late 1990s. As war looms and ethnic tensions escalate, 13-year-old Dua struggles to find her place among her peers and within her changing body. After an incident shakes her community, she becomes a target herself and bonds with a fearless girl, Maki, who draws her toward an unexpected form of resistance. Between the daily violence and the growing threat of exile, there is little room for quiet awakenings.

Director: Blerta Basholli
Cast: Pinea Matoshi, Vlera Bilalli, Kaona Matoshi, Yllka Gashi, Kushtrim Hoxha, Andi Bajgora
