bicycle laneOn Friday,  10th February, all around the world, an event “Winter Bike to Work Day” will be held. Namely, on this day, instead of by car or public transport, people use bike to go to work or to school by. The organizer of this event is Association Giro di Sarajevo which calls residents of BiH to get involved second year in a row.

“Winter Bike to Work Day is a global campaign that is organized in order to popularize the usage of bicycles as a means of transport when it is not very popular, for instance, in winter. The original idea includes the registration of the participants on the winterbiketoworkday.org so cities compete which will have more active cyclists. For BiH, we have made a slightly modified, however, rules are simple, “said the president of the Association Giro di Sarajevo Nisad Selimovic.

For the ones interested in participation on this event, enough is only to log in to the event on Facebook, and after you take bicycle to work or to school, to share a photo or video on the same link with the hashtag #winterbiketoworkday. Representatives of Giro will randomly select one person that will be rewarded with a gift.

“All the interested ones should bear in mind that they will feel warmer after a while. There is an unwritten rule that riders must be cold when they first go out to drive in the winter, all in order not be too hot while driving. Hat and gloves are recommended, but of course, helmet is strongly recommend for security reasons. “, concludes Selimovic.
