Relations between BiH and Norway are good, the economic cooperation should be improved

HBL_stortManager of the Western Balkans Section in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway Haakon Blankenborg said  yesterday, during his talk with the group of BiH officials in Oslo that this country has good relations with BiH, without any complications, and added that Norway, together with local partners has been implementing various projects in BiH since 1990, reports Fena.

Blankenborgg said to BiH officials who are in working visit to Norway in organisation of  Nansen Dialogue Centre, BiH is one of three priority countries for Norway, which means maintaining close political contacts with BiH and added that the bilateral program of support to BIH is the largest in the region and range from civil society to business incubators and two of them are being finished in Tuzla and in Banja Luka.

He also noted that his ministry is financing certain projects which are being carried out by Nansen Dialogue Centre.

Norway is implementing a large public administration reform program at all levels of BiH and participate in defence reform programs and it gave a huge contribution to cleaning BiH of mines.

However, Blankenborg stated that Norway wants to see more investments and larger scale of trade exchange between two countries.

He noted that currently one Norwegian company has invested in energy sector near Banja Luka, while the other in engineering sector in Mostar and In Sarajevo, while one BiH company exports furniture to Norway, while large investments are non-existent.

Blankenborg stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway can support innovations which should result in creation of new jobs and noted that the Ministry wants to continue the cooperation with BiH and concluded that BiH is responsible for its own future.
