The remains of at least one victim of the past war were exhumed today at the Smajlovića njive site in Gradina, Vlasenica municipality.
A spokeswoman for the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH, Emza Fazlić, said that the remains, ie bone fragments, were found on the surface of the field, and were noticed by a local while working in the field.
After the exhumation, the remains were transferred to the Commemorative Center in Tuzla for forensic processing, as well as the removal of bone samples in order to determine the identity of the victim with the help of DNA analysis.
The exhumation was carried out by order of the Court of BiH and under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
