The Srebrenica Memorial Center confirmed today that their team sent the information to all embassies and international missions in charge of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and they requested that all efforts be made so that accurate and true information reaches the decision makers from these countries in the United Nations.
“With the deepest respect, we cordially invite you to join us in advocating the adoption of the United Nations General Assembly Resolution on Srebrenica. Your support and message will significantly contribute to raising awareness and building a unified attitude towards justice and peace. Emphasizing the values of compassion, justice and reconciliation, together we can send an important message,” they say from the Memorial Center.
The Memorial Center confirmed that they are currently working on collecting signatures from international legal authorities that will support the campaign for the adoption of the Resolution. Also, the Memorial Center announced communication with countries in Africa together with memorials in Rwanda, as a response to the announced actions of Serbia in this part of the world.
“We will not allow the dirty anti-diplomatic campaign from Belgrade to undermine the efforts of the whole world to achieve the adoption of July 11 as the International Day of Remembrance of the Genocide in Srebrenica, which will irrefutably and forever engrave this date in the calendar of the United Nations and thus be a part of world history – not as a joke, but as a lesson for all those who will come,” conclude the press release from the Memorial Center.
