The remains of three victims of the past war were identified in the premises of the Commemorative Center in Tuzla. These are persons of Bosniak nationality who disappeared in 1992 and 1995 in the area of Zvornik and Vlasenica.

As stated by the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the identity of the victims was first obtained with the help of the DNA method, and then it was confirmed by their family members.

“This is how the family identified Selimović (Bajro) Sabahudin, born in 1964 in Zalužje near Bratunac. He disappeared in 1995 in the area of Alihodžić in Vlasenica, and his remains were exhumed in April last year in Alihodžići. After the identification, the family gave consent for the burial of this victim at the collective funeral in the Memorial Center of Srebrenica – Potočari, in July of this year,” the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH states.

The family also confirmed the identity of Ademović (Mustafa) Džemal, born in 1952 in the town of Pobuđe in Bratunac. He disappeared in 1992 in the area of Zvornik, and his remains were exhumed in 2008 at the site of Križevačke njiva, Zvornik.

Hamzabegović (Ibrahim) Smajo, born in 1959 in Glodi near Zvornik, was also identified. He disappeared in the Snagov area in 1992, and his remains were exhumed from a grave that was discovered in Snagov in October 2000.
