The Government of Canton Sarajevo (CS) has made available to the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) all the necessary capacities for the purpose of intervention assistance and sending medical and rescue teams from CS to the areas affected by the devastating earthquakes in the southeast of Turkey.

Namely, CS is ready to send 40 to 50 members of the Mountain Rescue Service of the CS Civil Protection Administration who are trained and certified for rescue from ruins. Five medical teams from the Public Company Institute for Emergency Medical Assistance with cardiomobiles, as well as five medical assistance teams from the General Hospital, were made available.

This conclusion was reached at yesterday‘s extraordinary session of the Government with the director of the Cantonal Administration of Civil Protection Dzenan Brkanic, as well as representatives of the Emergency Service and the General Hospital in Sarajevo, whose mobile teams are an integral part of Civil Protection CS.

It is important to note that the Government of CS is in constant contact with the Ministry of Security of BiH, as well as the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey for the purpose of consultation and coordination for the provision of other forms of assistance to the injured citizens and areas affected by earthquakes.

The leaders of the Government and the Assembly of the CS yesterday sent expressions of condolence and sympathy to the Turkish people, through the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey, on the occasion of the unprecedented disaster and huge victims in this country.
