Residents of BiH spend 1.998 BAM for Monthly Consumer Basket

The consumer basket calculated by the Union of Independent Trade Associations of Bosnia and Herzegovina for July 2019 is 1,998.61 BAM and is 95.55 BAM cheaper than the consumer basket for the previous month.

The average salary paid in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for May 2019 was 938.00 BAM (the latest data published by the Federal Bureau of Statistics) and is by 12 BAM higher than the average salary paid in April 2019.

Union Consumer Basket coverage with an average salary is 46.93 percent.

For the calculation, the average salary paid in the Federation of BiH was taken into account, as well as the minimum cost of living of a four-member family consisting of two adults and two children, one in high school and the other in elementary age.

The consumer basket itself consists of nutrition – 43,37%, housing and utilities – 15.57%, hygiene and maintenance of health – 5,65%, education and Culture – 6.0%, clothing and footwear – 15.01%, transportation – 6,9%, household  and Maintenance – 7.5%

Prices from 3 shopping malls for 82 items were used in the food category, Biznis Info reports.
