Residents of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and tourists will have the opportunity to travel to seven new destinations from Sarajevo International Airport in 2019 to the cities of Riyadh, Gasim, Jeddah, Kuwait, Athens, Berlin and Gothenburg.

“In addition to the new airlines, this year Swiss International Air Lines and Air Arabia have re-established flights to Zurich and Sharjah, so we have nine new routes,” was stated from Sarajevo International Airport to Federal News Agency.

Flybosnia is expected to introduce new lines by the end of the year.

“Currently, we have confirmation that they will introduce direct flights from Sarajevo to London from September,” was confirmed from this airport.

Currently, the capital of BiH is connected to a total of 21 cities via direct flights via Sarajevo International Airport: Ljubljana, Belgrade, Vienna, Zagreb, Cologne, Stuttgart, Dubai, Munich, Stockholm, Istanbul, Zurich, Budapest, Kuwait, Riyadh, Doha, Gasim , Jeddah, Athens, Berlin, Gothenburg and Sharjah.

The growth of traffic is continuous from year to year. In 2018, Sarajevo Airport had a total of 1,045,417 passengers.

“For the first half of 2019 (January 1st-June 30th) we had a total of 457,734 passengers. Experiences from the past business years, increased number of tourists, increased traffic show that this year the number of passengers is expected to increase compared to the previous year,” was added from Sarajevo Airport.
