Residents of Zenica made Mediaeval Tombstone for Mayor

In the village of Orahovica, which is located 25 kilometers from Zenica, a three-kilometer long road was ceremonially put into operation a few days ago, which is why the locals decided to make a stecak for Fuad Kasumovic.

Five days ago in Orahovica, a concrete road with a length of three kilometers on the route Vesela Bukva – Korita – Krce was officially put into traffic. The ceremony, which was accompanied by the cutting of the red ribbon and the presentation of a certificate of thanks to the mayor Fuad Kasumovic, was also marked by the construction of a stecak in honor of the mayor Fuad Kasumovic, who fulfilled the long-standing wish of the residents of Orahovica.

Namely, apart from the residents of Orahovica who participated in the construction of this road, the City of Zenica provided reinforcing mesh and allocated 150,000 BAM for its construction.

“There’s money for everything, I’ve shown it all these years, I didn’t have debt of even one BAM, and I paid back 37 million BAM of debt. So, there is money, it just needs to be spent in the a good way. It was a pleasure to see 50-60 locals who were involved in the concrete construction action. In the coming period, we need to bring electricity to this mountain, so that it is possible to build facilities here. I want to mention once again, without you this would not be possible. The fact is, I am an individual and I manage the City Administration and they do various things there. However, I am trying my best to restore your faith in the state and the people who rule,” said Mayor Kasumovic.

Hadis Asceric, president of the Orahovica local community, said on this occasion that everything the mayor had promised had been fulfilled.

“The mayor never lied to you, and we still have many projects ahead of us. I’ll just say, stand by those who don’t lie to you,” said Asceric.

Namely, the stecak also has a message written on it:

“The place from which the concrete construction of the 3,000-meter long road towards Orahovica began. At the request of the President of the Orahovica local community, Hadis Asceric, funds for the implementation of the project were provided by the City of Zenica and Mayor Fuad Kasumovic, in whose honor, as a sign of gratitude, this stecak was erected”, reads the stecak under the flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

It is important to mention that stecak is a common name for a medieval tombstone, Klix.ba reports.
