After meeting with three Members of the BiH Presidency, Plevneliev said that his country, which was the first in the world to recognize independent BiH and among first to help after last-year’s catastrophic floods, will try as the EU member to help BiH in its pre-accession period. He also promised to request additional financing sources through the European institutions.

Plevneliev, among other things, said that agreement on double taxation needs to be signed between BiH and Bulgaria as soon as possible.

“We will encourage Bulgarian companies to work with BiH companies. There is already interest for pharmacy, cosmetic industry, construction and other areas. BiH is an important

“Our friendship is strong, our path is the same and we will complete it together,“ concluded Bulgarian President in his address.

The Chairman of the BiH Presidency Mladen Ivanić said this visit is very important.

He said he expects that Bulgaria, as the EU member, will help BiH to get financial assistance and a great infrastructural project in cooperation with the EU once BiH implements reforms.

“I expect Bulgaria to help us in the European institutions, and to fight for BiH to export meat products to Turkey through its territory,“ said Ivanić.

Ivanić emphasized that Bulgaria has helped BiH since the war by participating in peacekeeping mission and with its political support.
