Rough Guide: After Rio in Brazil, Sarajevo is Most Desirable Destination

sarajevoAt the beginning of the year, many tourist agencies and guides make their list of cities and destinations to visit. Rough Guides, the publisher of more than 300 travel guides, has included the capital city of B&H on its list of Top 10 cities in 2014.

According to this publisher, Sarajevo is the second city that should be visited immediately after Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Along with a photo of the Latin Bridge, Rough Guides says about Sarajevo: ‘’Great world religions mingle in the streets of Sarajevo. It is compared to a mini version of Istanbul-even a mini Jerusalem-but in its slow recovery from the brutal years of war. Sarajevo has carved out its exciting future. Theatres and bars are the main creative breeding ground, but among the buildings scarred by bullets and smoke from nargila smoke, you will find unruly nightclubs, sweet-scented bakeries and independent bookstores’’.
