bihac_04The social pedagogical communities in the Una Sana Canton (USK), in cooperation with the office of the OSCE in Bihać, organized a roundtable in the neighborhood Kostel called ‘Improving Access to Social Protection’. This meeting was attended by representatives of social institutions, the relevant cantonal ministries and nongovernmental organizations, and they spoke about the social function of those responsible in the process of the socialization of children, the lack of adequate child care and coordination between institutions responsible for the protection of children.

They also spoke about finding possibilities of building shelters for children in the area of USK.

It was said at the roundtable that there are currently 80 children in foster families, while several hundred of them use the services of the social institution of the USK. Everyone agreed with the fact that the construction of shelters for children in this area would significantly improve the social protection of this population.
