RS Forests Made a Loss of 5.2 Million BAM in the First Half of the Year

Acting CEO of the public enterprise “Šume RS” Boško Kaurin announced today that, according to preliminary data, the company recorded a loss of around 5.2 million BAM in the first half of this year.

The financial result is worse than in the first six months of last year, when the loss was around three million BAM.

Kaurin said at a press conference that the final financial report will be released in a few days, and, as he added, approximately half of the organizational units achieved a positive and half a negative financial result. According to him, 90 percent of production was achieved.

The best result was achieved by the “Jahorina” Forestry Enterprise, and, according to Kaurin, the “Gorica”, “Lisina” and “Klekovača” forest enterprises are also doing well. The worst result is recorded by the “Vučevica” Forestry Enterprise in Čajniče.

“Bad weather conditions, namely snow, rain and floods, have affected the work of forest farms. In addition, the forest in Kneževo has been attacked by bark beetles that are destroying trees,” he added.

However, as he claims, production is not a problem at all and could be 110 percent by the end of the year, but the problem is that shipping has been reduced.

“Processors have reduced orders,” said the acting director of “Šume RS”.

He added that JP “Šume RS” is still regularly servicing all its obligations, Fena writes.
