The low-cost carrier “Wizz Air”, which has flights from Tuzla international airport, will introduce two new flights from June 2014-for Dortmund in Germany and Eindhoven in the Netherlands, announced klix.ba.
This is very important for the Tuzla airport, as well as for the entire region, since B&H will be connected with these European countries through Tuzla airport.
‘’Tuzla will get a lot with these new lines, and airport staff will try to comply with the responsibilities. Last year we had 61.526 passengers from our airport, and this year we plan to increase to over 100.000. We have overcome the current difficulties and we hope that we will manage to develop both passenger and cargo traffic’’, said Esed Mujačić, Director of Tuzla international airport, and added that the new lines will probably mean hiring new staff.
The ticket prices for the new lines will be low, such as the current ones for Gothenburg, Malmo and Basel, and will amount to 39.99 Euros, and taxes are included in the prices.
‘’Last year we had 15.5 million passengers at over 300 routes in 35 countries. In the last 10 years we have observed a constant growth. We have 45 airplanes of “Airbus A320’ and 1700 employees, and we plan to expand’’, said Gyorgy Abran, Director of ‘Wizz Air’.
Abran said that he is satisfied with the traffic on the three lines that fly from Tuzla, and expects that the same thing will occur with the new lines.
‘’Our motto is to continue to offer quality services at affordable prices’’, said Abran.
The cantonal minister of Trade, Tourism and Transport of Tuzla Canton Mustafa Isabegović thanked ‘Wizz Air’ for showing confidence to Tuzla airport and was the first to introduce flights from Tuzla.
‘’This airport is the generator of the development of Tuzla region because with its development, perspective for development and other industries is created’’, said Isabegović.
Flights for Dortmund will start on 19 June and will take place three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) and on 22 June for Eindhoven (Wednesday and Sunday). With these flights, Tuzla airport will increase its flights from 8 to 11.
