The deputies of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska are scheduled to discuss three items at a special session today, including the Proposal of a Decision on the Appointment of the Acting President of the Republika Srpska.
The proposed agenda, which was established today by the Collegium of the National Assembly, includes the Proposal of a Law on the Termination of Laws, by Urgent Procedure, as well as the Proposal of a Conclusion on the Invalidation of the Conclusions Regarding the Information on the Collapse of the Legal Order in BiH in Violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, dated 25 December 2024.
Two special sessions of the NARS are planned for today, so the appointment of the Acting President of the Republika Srpska is also on the agenda.
“The National Assembly of the Republika Srpska appoints Ana Trišić Babić as the Acting President of the Republika Srpska, whose responsibilities are in accordance with the Constitution of the Republika Srpska. This decision terminates the office of the current President of the Republika Srpska. The decision is valid until the election of a new President of the Republika Srpska,” the Proposal of a Decision on the Appointment of the Acting President of the RS states.
The Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH has decided that early elections for the President of Republika Srpska will be held on 23 November this year.
The CEC of BiH previously stripped Milorad Dodik of his mandate as President of Republika Srpska, after he was sentenced to a one-year prison sentence and a six-year ban on holding public office for disrespecting the decisions of the High Representative Christian Schmidt.
The Collegium of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska has postponed the start of the 27th special session from 10:30 to 12:00, the National Assembly announced.
