Russia lifts Ban on Imports of Fruit and Vegetables from BiH

POLAND-RUSSIA-APPLES-EMBARGOMinister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Mirko Sarovic confirmed that Russia lifted the ban on imports of fruit and vegetables from BiH.

After certain complaints on the work of phytosanitary services in BiH, Russia banned the import of fruit and vegetables from BiH in August. Meanwhile, the inspection supervision took place, and Russia offered BiH to sign the Protocol on Cooperation which defines certain issues in the field of exports to Russia.

The Council of Ministers of BiH, meanwhile, signed the offered Protocol and sent to the relevant departments in Russia as an affirmative answer. Although it was expected that ban on export will be lifted soon, the ban was lifted yesterday.

To recall, after Russia established irregularities in the export of fruit and vegetables from BiH, they sent the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation in our country, whose representatives visited the local companies that have applied for the export of its products, including dairy and the meat industry companies.
