Russia still did not approve the Import of Fruits and Vegetables from BiH?

img-00004BiH is still waiting for the official confirmation from Russia about the abolition of the ban for import of fruits and vegetables from BiH. The Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Šarović confirmed that they expect this issue to be solved soon.

After the defined objections on the work of phyto-sanitary services in BiH, in August this year Russia banned the import of fruits and vegetables from BiH. Meanwhile, the inspection control was executed and Russia offered BiH to sign a protocol on cooperation, which defines certain issues in the field of import to Russia.

In the meantime, the Council of Ministers of BiH signed the offered protocol and sent it to the relevant services in Russia. Although it was expected that the ban of export will be abolished very soon, that has not happened yet.

Given the importance of the export market of Russia for BiH producers, each day of the ban represents a major damage to the BiH economy.

BiH will soon host the inspection of the EU food and veterinary office from Dublin, who will conduct a control and check the functioning of the national system of control and export facilities for production of chicken meat, in order to allow the export of chicken to the EU market.
