At yesterday’s session of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) Government, a decision was made to increase the base for calculating salaries for police officers in the FBiH. Federal Prime Minister Fadil Novalic proposed the adoption of a new salary calculation for police officers in the FBiH.

This means that cash salaries for March will be calculated and paid on the current basis of 330 BAM, and the difference between the salary paid in this way and the one calculated on the basis of 346.5 BAM will be paid together with the salary for the current month, Klix.ba writes.

This year’s budget envisages increased funds for the salaries of police officers in the Federal Police Administration (FPA), which created a precondition for a five percent increase in salaries. The same percentage increase is planned for prison police officers and judicial police officers.

Furthermore, with the aim of recovering from the crisis and stabilizing the economy, the FBiH Government intends to improve the protection of the most vulnerable categories of the population through timely payment of budget benefits and improved social assistance targeting, more efficient and transparent public employment policy, increased capital investment, and active labor market policies and measures.

Moreover, the budgeting system needs to be improved and measures to combat the gray economy need to continue.

The Government of the FBiH was acquainted with the Consolidated Report on the Execution of the Budget of the FBiH, Cantons, and Municipalities of the FBiH, and the financial plans of extra-budgetary funds of the FBiH for the period January-December 2021.

As stated, in the past year, all levels of government in the FBiH achieved a positive financial result of 284.6 million BAM, while in 2020 a negative result of 110 million BAM was achieved.
