Last night was held charity exhibition “Painters with the heart for children with cancer” in the Parents House in Sarajevo, whose initiator is the Art Colony Majevica from Srebrenik, and which is trying to support the work of the Parents’ House.
Little girl Hanifa, who is staying in the Parents’ House, opened the exhibition.
Vice president and project manager of the Association “Heart for Children” Fikret Kubat said that around 40 artists have donated paintings and their artworks in order to help the financing of the Parents’ House. Kubat noted that a total of 26 paintings were sold even before the exhibition.
As he said, the battle for Parents’ House in Sarajevo is still going, which was used by about 60 families for a little less than a year.
“Parents and their children have everything for free in this house. I cannot find the words to describe the importance of the Parents’ House,” said Kubat.
“There are a dozen pieces left, but everyone who wants to buy paintings can come next week in the Parents’ House. The total value of sold paintings is 3,200 BAM, and with paintings that were previously sold, the total amount is around 7,000 BAM,” said secretary of the association “Heart for Children” Jasna Vatres.
She noted that they are satisfied with the response since some of the guests bought more art pieces at once.
“Some of the paintings went to Lukavac and in Gorazde, so people from other cities came as well. Some of them even paid more in order to help Parents’ House,” said Vatres.
