“Šantićeve večeri poezije” to Begin on Monday

aleksa_santic_Mostar – the solemn opening of the 95th “Šantićeve večeri poezije” (Šantić poetry night) will be held on September 22nd in the atrium of the Vladičanski dvor in Mostar beginning at 19:00 o’clock – confirmed at yesterday’s press conference the organizers of the event, the president of the SKPD “Gusle” Radislav Tubić and the president of the SPKD “Prosvjeta” Mostar, Branislav Rajković.

The manifestation will be open by a film, TV and theatre actress Svetlana Bojković followed by a solemn opening with performances of the SPKUD “Gusle” Mostar, the klapa ensembles “Hrvoje” and HGPD “Hrvoje” from Mostar as well as the Ensemble “Mostarske kiše”. The letter by Nataša Milošević pronounced to be the most beautiful letter of the world will be red at the opening too.

The president of the SPKUD “Gusle” Radislav Tubić pointed out that once again, there was no financial support by the town of Mostar and BH institutions what so ever.

“We consider it to be a shame for those who represent the city and I hope they will come at least once and support the event “Šantićeve večeri poezije” with their attendance.” – said Tubić and added the event was financially supported by Elektroprivreda RS and the owner of the company “My taxi” Mostar, Božo Cicmil.

“Šantić deserves to have poetry evening organized in his honour every year, at least in Mostar, the event should also last longer and have more quality program.” – pointed out Tubić.

On the second day of this event, September 23rd, with the beginning at 19:00 o’clock, at the atrium of the Vladičanski dvor in Mostar ane exhibition entitled “Jovan Dučić in the diplomacy world” will be open, in coordination with the Yugoslav Archive and the SPKD “Prosvjeta”, Gacko. The exhibition will be open by the consul of the Republic of Serbia in Mostar, Mrs Jelena Vukajlović.

On Wednesday, September 24th, beginning at 19:00 o’clock the “Portrait of Milica Jeftimijević Lilić” the vice-president of the Serbian Writers Association will be held too. Youth Poetry night will be held on Friday, September 26th, in cooperation with the UWC Mostar.

Poetry and music night entitled “Druga Šantićeva kuća” will be at the program on September 27th, organized in cooperation of the SPKD “Prosvjeta” Nevesinje in the town Gallery in Nevesinje.

On Monday, September 29th, at the big stairs in the Old Town in Mostar at 19:00 o’clock contemporary poetry night and the closing ceremony will be held with Veselin Gatalo as moderator.
