Sarajevo International Airport served 76,891 passengers in December last year, compared to 67,039 in the same month of 2022, i.e. 133.2 percent more than in December of pre-pandemic 2019, when there were 57,718.

The airport had 895 operations – up from 830 in December 2022, and cargo handled was 236.2 tonnes up from 201 tonnes in December 2022.

In the whole of 2023, the airport served 1,362,007 passengers, which is 1.1 percent less than in 2022 and is a surprisingly good result considering that it lost the base of Wizz Air, which annually accumulated about 400,000 passengers.

Sarajevo Airport had 119.1 percent more passengers than in 2019.

Also, it realized 13,899 operations and transported 2,764.1 tons of cargo in 2023, which is 514.2 tons more than in 2022 or 109.6 percent more than in 2019, it was stated in the press release of SIA.
