The winter flight schedule comes into effect at Sarajevo International Airport on October 25, offering passengers new travel options to the capitals of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Germany.
The start of the winter season will also see the introduction of three new destinations by the airline Wizz Air. Flights to Bratislava and Berlin begin on December 3, while a new route to Prague will be launched on December 18. These destinations provide travelers from Bosnia and Herzegovina with easier connections to major European hubs.
The introduction of these new air routes presents an additional opportunity to increase tourist arrivals in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while also making Sarajevo more accessible to travelers from European markets.
During the winter season, 14 airlines will operate from Sarajevo International Airport, serving 18 destinations: Austrian Airlines – Vienna; Croatia Airlines – Zagreb; Turkish Airlines – Istanbul; AJet – Istanbul (Sabiha Gökçen); Lufthansa – Frankfurt; Wizz Air – Rome, London, Prague, Bratislava, Berlin; SWISS – Zurich; Eurowings – Cologne, Stuttgart, Berlin; Jazeera Airways – Kuwait; Flynas – Jeddah; Air Serbia – Belgrade; Pegasus Airlines – Antalya, Izmir, Istanbul (Sabiha Gökçen); and flydubai – Dubai.
In anticipation of the new winter season, “Visit Sarajevo” has released a promotional video showcasing the beauty of the Bosnian capital and offering inspiration as to why travelers should choose Sarajevo as their holiday destination this winter. The city’s unique atmosphere, rich cultural and historical heritage, authentic gastronomic offerings, the hospitality of its people, and the proximity of the Olympic mountains make Sarajevo and its surroundings particularly attractive during the winter months.
“We recommend that travelers planning a visit to Sarajevo this winter watch the inspiring ‘Visit Sarajevo’ promotional film to discover why Sarajevo is a destination worth visiting at any time of the year,” stated Sarajevo International Airport.
By expanding its network of destinations, introducing new flight routes, and continuously improving passenger services, Sarajevo International Airport continues to contribute to better connectivity between Sarajevo – and Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole – and European and international markets, while simultaneously creating new opportunities for the development of tourism and the economy.
“Sarajevo International Airport is also approaching another significant milestone. We expect to welcome our two-millionth passenger on one of our upcoming flights. This milestone represents an important turning point and serves as confirmation of our continuous growth, the trust placed in us by passengers, and the ever-increasing interest in travel to and from Sarajevo,” the airport announced.
Passengers planning to travel on Sunday are reminded that the clocks will shift to winter time on October 25th. Consequently, it is important to carefully check the departure times listed on travel documents and plan to arrive at the airport well in advance.
