Commander of EUFOR, Major General Maurizio Fronda, attended a Distinguished Visitors Day (DVD), organised as part of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s evaluation exercise “Immediate Response 26”, conducted under NATO’s Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC).
The exercise focused on the re-evaluation of the operational capabilities of AF BiH units in accordance with NATO standards. The evaluation covered seven key areas: preparation, planning and design, execution of operations, sustainment, command, control and communications, force protection, and information flow. The exercise involved a combination of established and modern military equipment, including the OT M113 A1 armoured personnel carrier, modern medical vehicles and other equipment assigned to the units.
Helicopters from the AF BiH Air Force and Air Defence Brigade also supported the exercise, enabling a realistic assessment of operational capabilities in field conditions. The re-evaluation brought together evaluators from NATO member countries and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reflecting the importance of international cooperation and the continued development of operational capabilities.
EUFOR’s attendance at the Distinguished Visitors Day highlights the importance of its ongoing cooperation with the AF BiH. Through regular engagement, professional exchange and joint training activities, EUFOR and the AF BiH continue to strengthen mutual understanding, coordination and readiness, contributing to a safe and secure environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
