The resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica was adopted with 84 votes in favor, 19 against, and 68 abstentions.

Arab countries were among the countries that abstained and voted against.

Among the member states of the Arab League that did not support the resolution on Srebrenica and abstained in the vote are Algeria, Bahrain, Lebanon, Oman, Sudan and the United Arab Emirates.

The vote and declaration of the representative of the United Arab Emirates was particularly shameful, as he recalled the genocide in Srebrenica and took into his mouth the youngest victim of the genocide, Fatima Muhić, a newly born baby, and then remained restrained when determining the international day of remembrance for the victims of genocide, including the baby Fatima.

The representative of Algeria said that it recognizes the genocide in Srebrenica and that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a friendly country, but that they abstained during the vote.

Syria was against it, but that vote is not a surprise because Syria’s foreign policy is aligned with Russia’s decisions. Morocco did not vote on the resolution. Therefore, it did not abstain, but did not participate in the vote, Klix.ba writes.
