The milestone 25th edition of Banja Luka’s traditional cycling event, “Two Wheels Are Enough” (Dva točka su dovoljna) was the centrepiece of the city’s European Mobility Week actions on Sunday, 20 September 2026. Organised by the Centre for Environment, the National Coordinator for European Mobility Week in BiH, in cooperation with Europe House and the City of Banja Luka, the recreational ride gathered cyclists of all generations to promote clean transport, equal traffic rights for cyclists, and safer urban bike lanes.
European Mobility Week was marked across Bosnia and Herzegovina with recreational and educational activities organised by local administrations in cooperation with organisations and partners to highlight the need to raise awareness about improving public health and implementing sustainable and healthier options for all citizens. The activities highlighted the vital role of sustainable urban mobility in creating healthier and more livable environments for all citizens.
This year’s European Mobility Week theme, “Mobility for Everyone,” highlights intergenerational fairness and accessibility. The initiative advocates for a society where sustainable transport is safe, affordable, and inclusive for all citizens, regardless of age, location, or income. By taking to the streets on bikes, residents of Banja Luka join ongoing efforts in cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina and Europe to reduce emissions, revitalize shared public spaces, and turn green mobility into everyday action.
European Mobility Week is the European Union’s flagship campaign for sustainable urban mobility, taking place annually from 16 to 22 September and culminating in World Car-Free Day. The campaign promotes active mobility, public transportation, and clean transport solutions, encouraging local administrations across Europe to test innovative urban planning measures and expand sustainable infrastructure.
