The Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Nihad Uk and ministers in the Government of Sarajevo Canton today presented the results of the work in the first 100 days of the mandate, and assessed that period as satisfactory, although there were many challenges.
Uk especially emphasized that in the history of the Government of the Canton of Ssarajevo, the largest budget has been secured so far – 6.2 million BAM for culture, 7.5 million BAM for sports, and 4,250,000 BAM for scientific and research activities.
In his opening presentation, he presented the work of all ministries and emphasized that the Ministry of Justice and Administration has implemented significant projects in the digital transformation of the public sector, especially the elimination of the need for land registry extracts when proving ownership and complete electronic communication with the administrative bodies of the CS.
As he stated, the Ministry of Health partially solved the problem of the CS Health Center and employed 46 more workers, which is a total of 318 workers on an indefinite basis. An additional clinic for children and people with developmental disabilities “Everything in one place” was opened in the General Hospital “Prim Dr. Abdulah Nakaš”.
He stated that the Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection is working on a large project, unique in the region, which is the “Energy HUB” – production of heat energy from waste water and electricity from Butila waste sludge.
A 10 percent reduction in the price of central heating was established as of April 1, and a new reduction was announced.
Uk also said that the CS Ministry of Transport is continuing the reconstruction project of the tram line Čengić Vila – Ilidža and Čengić Vila – Marijin dvor, and the contract for the construction project of the tram line Ilidža – Hrasnica has also been signed. Free public transport is provided for students and pupils, and from tomorrow coupons for public transport will be unique for both operators, and the ticket price is 1.80 BAM.
In the Ministry of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees, a project was launched to remove barriers for immobile and disabled persons in public institutions, 21 million BAM was allocated for employment incentives, and 3,332 people are expected to be employed through established programs.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of CS faces big challenges, namely the procurement of body cameras, ensuring order and peace, for which 195 new police officers have been hired.
In order to develop entrepreneurial infrastructure for the purpose of economic development, the Ministry of Economy established the “Doglodi” Business Zone, and with the same goal, the Public Enterprise Center for Advanced Technologies in Sarajevo was established.
