At today’s hearing in the Sarajevo Cantonal Court, Amel Jašarević was sentenced to 20 years in prison, the Canton Sarajevo Prosecutor’s Office announced.

Jašarević was convicted of murdering Mehmed Ramić on December 12, 2021, at a crossroads in Sarajevo’s Pofalići neighborhood and for illegal possession of weapons and drugs.

Edvin Imamović and Igor Zuko were also convicted in this case for helping the perpetrator after the crime had been committed. Imamović was sentenced to three years, and Zuko to two years in prison.

At around 21:15 on December 12, Jašarević fired several shots from a pistol in the direction of the Peugeot vehicle, which was driven by Mehmed Ramić, from the Golf motor vehicle he was driving, and who then died on the spot.
