Cooperation between Sarajevo International Airport and SunExpress airline was made official yesterday at the Hills Hotel in Sarajevo, and the establishment of two new direct airlines to Turkey was announced.

As emphasized and previously announced, with this company, Sarajevo will be connected directly to Izmir, but also to Antalya, and flights will be operated twice a week.

“Today we gathered to make official the start of the cooperation of the International Airport in Sarajevo. Two new direct lines are being introduced to Izmir and Antalya. This comes as a result of our public programs, i.e. the program adopted by the government last year to subsidize air traffic, all with the aim of increasing the number of tourists. We are looking forward to cooperation. This company has been operating on the market for many years and is co-owned by Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa. We hope that new public invitations will soon be completed and new direct lines will be established, especially for Scandinavian countries,” said Zlatko Mijatovic, minister of Canton Sarajevo (CS) economy, yesterday.

Prime Minister of CS Nihad Uk also commented on the establishment of new lines.

“Another beautiful moment for the CS. Two additional destinations with which we will connect our city with other metropolises. As we promised, this year we will have about 15 new destinations compared to the previous year. We will not stop with these cities, we announce new cities that will be revealed in the following month,” emphasizes the Prime Minister of CS.

The details of the cooperation were explained by the SunExpress representative for the Balkans, Veljko Markovic.

“We are glad to start flights to Sarajevo. There will be two flights a week to Izmir and two to Antalya. We hope for success and that everything will be as it should be. The interest is great, the reservations are going in an excellent direction. We believe that Sarajevo can grow into a destination where flights will be operated throughout the year. SunExpress is exploring new markets and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is on the list,” he emphasized.

Finally, he talked about flight prices.

“Return tickets from Sarajevo – Antalya – Sarajevo start at 110 euros. Everything depends on the filled capacity of the plane. That’s a start. In the SunExpress option, not only Antalya and Izmir have to be included, but through Antalya, we also have other connections to destinations in Turkey. We have destinations and for Samarkand and Azerbaijan,” concluded Markovic, Klix.ba writes.
